Andrew Cook
Dutch-born Andrew Cook is a co-founder of EXACO, a 37-year-old wholesale distributor of greenhouses and gardening products based in Pflugerville. Andrew has spent his whole career in the gardening world. After achieving an undergraduate degree from the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester. England, he came to the USA as a student at Texas A&M University, where he graduated in 1979 with a degree in Agricultural Economics. He then attended Cornell University and received a Masters Degree in 1984. After Cornell, Andrew moved to Austin and started EXACO with the focus of providing high-quality gardening tools from Europe to USA garden centers. He has become well-known in the garden center world for his expertise on the American market. He was a speaker at the famous Chelsea Garden Show in London and GardenEx, the conference of English gardening manufacturers. During the 1990s EXACO focused on supplying more than 2,000 garden centers around the country. In the early 2000s he refocused the company as vice president of sales so that Exaco became a major online supplier of European hobby greenhouses. Andrew, who became a USA citizen in 1990, is a partner with his wife Kim Tyson Cook in EXACO.
